Ukrainian account

Ukrainian officials reported that two women were killed in Zaporizhzhia and two more people in the Sumy region. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of escalating every day.

Russian account

Russia's regional task force said Ukrainian drones killed three people and wounded two in Krasnodar, while fires at two industrial sites were extinguished. Moscow-installed officials in the Russian-occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region reported three further deaths after Ukrainian attacks. Moscow described the facilities it attacked as military or war-related targets.

Neutral editorial assessment

AP, AFP, Reuters and regional reports document deaths and damage on both sides. The three additional deaths reported in the Russian-occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region are based on claims by Moscow-installed officials and have not been independently confirmed. Target descriptions, attribution and interception claims come from the warring parties. UN monitors also document a growing civilian toll.
