Both parties to the conflict are presented separately, followed by a factual neutral assessment.

U.S. account

Trump publicly confirmed the rejection. A US official had previously described the indirect talks as positive and constructive; Washington did not announce a counterproposal.

Iranian account

Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said the plan sent through Qatar called for a regional pause in fighting and reopening the strait on day seven if the US ended its port blockade, released frozen funds and waived oil sanctions. Tehran continued to await a formal response from mediators.

Neutral editorial assessment

Trump's public statement confirms rejection of this specific plan. It does not necessarily end all diplomatic contacts. Reports of later renewed bombing were not independently confirmed and are not presented as fact.
