UN commission issues new allegations on Gaza and the West Bank
A UN commission accuses Israel of continuing genocidal acts in Gaza and of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied territories.
Both parties to the conflict are presented separately, followed by a factual neutral assessment.
Israeli account
Israel rejects the allegations, calls the report a misinformation campaign and demands the commission be dissolved. The Israeli government has long denied accusations of genocide and sexual violence by its forces.
Gaza/Palestinian account
The commission says Israel expanded its control in Gaza despite the ceasefire and that at least 196 Palestinians were killed along the advancing line since October 2025. It also documents serious allegations from the West Bank and detention facilities.
Neutral editorial assessment
The findings are allegations by an independent UN commission of inquiry, not a final court judgment. Reuters and AP consistently report the report and Israel's rejection; AP could not independently corroborate several alleged abuse cases described in it.
