Kyiv and Moscow report massive reciprocal air attacks
Russia struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles on 22 October while Moscow reported hundreds of Ukrainian drones.
Both parties to the conflict are presented separately, followed by a factual neutral assessment.
Ukrainian account
Ukraine reported 21 ballistic missiles in three waves. It said two people were killed and 34 wounded nationwide, with civilian buildings and infrastructure damaged.
Russian account
Russia said Ukraine launched 630 drones towards Moscow. Russian officials reported one death in Belgorod and two injuries near Moscow; the claims were not independently verified.
Neutral editorial assessment
Reuters and AP independently confirm the reciprocal wave of attacks. Figures, targets and the alleged use of cluster munitions partly rely on statements by the belligerents and remain only partly verifiable.
