At least five killed and 19 wounded in new Gaza strikes
Palestinian hospitals reported at least five people killed and 19 wounded in Gaza City and Khan Younis on 30 September. Reuters later raised the day's toll to at least seven deaths.
Both parties to the conflict are presented separately, followed by a factual neutral assessment.
Israeli account
Israel's military said the apartment strike targeted a Hamas member who was planning attacks. It initially did not comment on the bus strike; AP said it was reviewing information about the Khan Younis strike. Israel accuses Hamas of rearming and attacking despite the ceasefire.
Gaza/Palestinian account
Hospital and rescue officials reported that a woman was killed in an apartment and at least four people on a bus in Tel al-Hawa; later strikes were said to have killed two more people. Hamas denies rearming or planning attacks and accuses Israel of undermining the ceasefire.
Neutral editorial assessment
AP and Reuters independently corroborate at least five deaths and 19 injuries. Reuters later reported seven deaths, but Israel specifically explained only the apartment strike and initially did not address the other reported attacks. Victim identities and targets therefore remain only partly verified.
